It's never too soon to start thinking about the first New York Pipe Show of 2010! As usual it will be held at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in Newark,NJ on Saturday March 13th. Doors open at 10:00 am. At least a few of us will be staying over on the nite of the 12th. It's become a bit of a ritual to hang out in the room of show organizer Rich Esserman and talk pipes til' the wee hours Laughing If you're going, please look me up. I always stay on the 1st floor of the hotel. If I'm in the room and NOT sleeping my door's always propped open for guests Laughing

Address:
550 US Hwy 9, Rt 1 - 9 S / I-78, Newark, NJ 07114

Phone:
973-824-4000

Hope to see you there!

Sounds like another opportunity for an odd road trip!

Who from this side of the Mason Dixon is up for it? Very Happy

I'm thinking about it.
Last year was fun.
The whole road trip was good, the stop at John B. Hayes in Winchester, the stop at Boswell's in PA then on to New Jersey. Meeting the Brothers at the show.... and all those pipes. Did regret passing on a few.....
....We'll see....

The road trip itself was a blast between John B. Hayes, JM Boswell's and of course a 5th of Wild Turkey Rye! Very Happy I'm thinking a room near the show this year so we can participate in the pre-show festivities and hotel room deals. Very Happy Dock bought everything up before we had a chance to see anything! Laughing Laughing Laughing

It's a longshot for me for the NY/NJ show... my girlfriend's thesis show (sculpture) is that weekend. Just the luck of the draw I suppose.

(But a trip down to Carolinas in Spring sounds very appealing... we shall see.)

I've been thinking if I don't do the NY show I might go to the TAPS show.

Maybe Richmond in the fall???

I hope you can make it to the TAPS Show Eric! And I definitely want to make it to the Richmond Show. From what I understand, smoking is still going to be allowed on the floor in Richmond. http://www.corpipesmokers.org/expo.html

I just made my reservations! For some reason this always gives me hope that Spring will actually bloom again in this freezing hell hole that is the Northeast. As soon as I get a list of exibitors from Sam Barnett I will post it here....

Sweet, I am going to try to make it to this show. I've been hoping for a nearby pipe show as I have never been to one. This looks to be only a ~2hr drive away. Awesome!

Hmm...wonder what I will have to do to bribe my wife to reserve the date.

I hope to be at this one since I missed the S.M. Frank event back in December.
Not sure if I'll grab a room or not, I'll have to look into it a bit before I do.

Anyone know how late the show usually runs? I tried to google for more info but couldn't get much. I'm trying to decide whether to drive down the day of or stay over the night before since I have a strong moral objection to getting up before 9am on the weekends.
