Hi everyone,

I'm Johnny from New York, not the city, the state. I live about 200 miles Northwest of NYC in a small town of about 7,000 people. I'm 30 years old and I work in food service and have been, on and off, for about 15 years. I've been smoking pipes for a little over 2.5 years now and have been enjoying it a lot. I tend to smoke a lot of different blends and my favorite pipes so far have been my Peterson's, especially the system pipes which I have just discovered a bit over a ...

I love the sound of McIntosh receivers. So much so that when it became obvious that my MAC-1900 needed service and wasn't in the condition it had been advertised, I sent it in for service. Then I bought a second MAC-1900 to keep me company while the first was off. You caught me with the system apart. I was in the middle of making room for the new record storage cabinet, when Cathy decided that we needed to store like 700 cookbooks for a fund raiser. Those got put in the front office where ...

The Fall is like a last kiss of summer. It holds the beauty of warmer colors to prepare the soul for the bleakness and frozen times of natures frozen kiss... W.C.Rewalt

No, not money, (although you can send some and I'm certainly be greatfull!). I'm working on an architecture project and I'm asking all my pipster friends out there to let me know if they've seen this type of structure. This is a rather ornate example, the key to identifying this type of cladding technique is it's mostly rock with just a little brick trim around the windows, doorways, corners, etc.

I'm not looking for all rock or all brick houses, but examples where they're combined. ...

Did a site search to see if anything has been said about Mars, but it found nothing. I've never ordered from there before, and I might. Good experiences? Bad experiences? My biggest concern is that it is one of these outfits that says it has something, but it really doesn't. Also been shortchanged on weight in the past (that place is now out of business). I've been given the run-around with a couple online tobacco "shops" in the past, and I'd like to avoid that hassle if possible. ...

I am fascinated by these pipes. I don't think that I would use one as I really like my small pocket pipe (practical for driving and smoking). What's the history on these? Why so long? Other than wanting to look like a Tolken character...hmm maybe I will base my Halloween costume around on of these...are they a good smoke or a novelty? I would be grateful for any knowledge that could be provided. Thanks

I began with an old Gillette twist handle. From there I moved to disposables, to electric, and for the past four years or so I've used straight razors. Lately, though, I've fallen back on the good old Mach III. For some reason I just get the best shaves with that.

Furthering a discussion with Piet, there are few good tobacconists in the Cape Town area:

Sturks in Greenmarket Square is about the most well known in the city bowl (they've been in business since the late 1700's and only owned by 3 different families)

Curiosity Hut in Somerset Mall is also pretty good - they stock a large range.

Then there's just the Cock 'n Bull franchise which is more of a curio type store selling poker ...

I enjoyed browsing through 44 pages of fine pipes made by a wide variety of artists at the site listed below. Although its primary purpose is to highlight each pipesmiths achievements, I thought if your planning on having a pipe made, or maybe crafting your own, there's a lot of ideas there to draw from. If you have a few minutes to kill it might be worth your while.

Just click on the magazine cover shown "Pipe Pictures" and enjoy.

I just jarred a tin of BF that spent a year in my cellar. Before that, it seems to have had a long shelf time at the e-tailer's. The wax paper wrapper was saturated with brown stain, which usually means good things have happened to this baccy. Dunno, this is my first tin. The tin note smelled like dense, swampy fermented flake. I'm giving it some jar time before I smoke the first bowl. That's how I roll.
