I'll be in Tampa for the next week. Is there any good (tobacco-related) places I should visit?

Thanks.

Tampa has/had a rich history with cigars.
Visit Ybor city.

Are long filler cigars still made there? I was under the impression the Tampa rollers had long since become jobbers for inexpensive house branded stuff.

There is Edward's Pipe and Tobacco located on Henderson Blvd. It has been there at least 50 years. They have a great selection of cigars and pipes and pipe tobacco. They blend their own tobacco and have their own pipes, plus name brands.

Thompson cigar is also there. They have a large mail order business. They are suppose to have a showroom but I've never been there.

There may be some specialty cigar shops where they roll their own cigars but all the big factories are gone. Sad.

I was in Ybor City in the late 60s and remember the smells of roasting coffee, hand rolled cigars and eating at the Columbia restaurant.
While I never saw this, I understand that cigars were hand rolled mostly by women and as they worked someone would read a book out loud for them. Perhaps this was an early version of npr. There is also a book that describes the history of making cigars in Ybor city

Edwards probably the only game in town when it comes to pipes and pipe tobacco in Tampa.
