...for dozens of dismembered human bodies buried under a house in Texas.

Nothing was found, of course.

Call me old fashioned, but calling out an army of cops and cadaver dogs should require something more, um, substantial than a telephone call from Miss Cleo, yes?

Tons of news organizations jumped on the bandwagon like they didn't learn from the 2000 election. Just because one says something doesn't make it true.

Evans said the sheriff's office took the tip seriously because she claimed children's bodies were in the mix.

Well, there you go. It was for the children.

If you need to distract the police for some reason, tell them you have a "feeling" that there's a bunch of children dead or in mortal danger at some farmhouse.

Translated: People will act rationally and deny they believe in supernatural silliness only until a certain point of threat/horror is reached, after which what they really believe is flushed out.

The old "there are no atheists in foxholes" thing, expressed a bit differently.

My money's on the "psychic informant" being the new girlfriend of the ex-boyfriend who cut himself deliberately and bled profusely on said farmhouse. Or possibly the ex-girlfriend, if her parents (sensibly) pressured her to break up with said boyfriend after the bleeding incident.

There's no atheists in foxholes because it takes years to get the military to change your dog tags from "None" to "Atheist".

I suppose this woman must have an inside source somewhere, feeding her information in order to maintain her validity.
