By now we have all herd of Anthony Weiner.
He has said, in one way or another, that his name was the topic of many jokes when he was a kid.
My wife, who is not a porn star, wonders if his name was the cause of many of the problems he currently faces.
While I am also not a porn star, I wonder if there are other names like Anthony's.
Any thoughts?

Dick Butkus and Randy Johnson both lived famous lives with very suggestive names. Pro athletes have plenty of opportunity for groupie love, and neither of them developed a reputation for womanizing.

Meanwhile, Babe Ruth--with two girl's names--was up to his elbows in strange.

And the all-time lady-killer was a guy named "Wilt"... maybe he was compensating for that name?

Does anyone know how former DH/Outfielder Rusty Kuntz did with the ladies? Or Dick Pole?

How about Slocum?
Isn't there something about a family name being an indication of the father's profession (e.g., Baker, Shoemaker etc...)

If being a weiner were a profession, I'd be a billionaire today, if every schoolyard bully I encountered was right.

I went to school with a guy named Rusty Nail, and had a teacher named Richard Burnt - Dick, for short. Listed in the phone book, read Burnt, Dick Surprised

I knew a priest back home whose name was Firmus Dick, he had a brother named Harry. Both led normal lives and were never involved in any scandal. I think Weiner is just a Whiner.

I missed all the Wiener headlines when that scandal first came to light. I can just imagine though:

Self Revealing Wiener embarrassed.

Wiener done in by his own kind!

Wiener says "It wasn't me, it was Johnson".

One of my elementary school classmates had the last name of Petit. His father was Richard, but--inexplicably--went by Dick.

One of my frat-brothers dated an East Indian who's real name is Mehboob Mehboobi; his name is Oliver Koch.

When my children were in High School, they had a teacher named Mr. Richard Head. Of course, he went by Dick and was affectionately called by the students as Dick Head. What are parents thinking Question

No kidding, in Falls Church Va, there was a gynecologist named Harry Beaver. In the phone book.

I had a student named Willie Johnson.

That Dick Head one is the killer of the bunch. Were they serious?

This stuff makes me giggle as I wonder why some parents just don't for see these names a s a childhood anchor weighing around a kid's neck.
My best friend growing up was Rick Golden and his father (a Richard) went by Dick. What really cracked me up as a kid was seeing his father's name in the various directories around the community.... yes, Golden, Dick.

Come to think of it, the married ladies in the neighborhood did seem to gravitate toward him at parties...

Still makes me giggle 54 years later.

My sister's fourth-grade teacher was named Mr. Fangboner. I was in highschool at the time and every afternoon she came home talking about class, it took everything in me not to giggle....

Of course you've all heard the latest political news? Attorney General Eric Holder had been meeting with Weiner over the previous few weeks, and they had planned for Weiner to run for President, and he would name Holder as his VP. They were so confident about their selection that they had thousands of bumper stickers printed up.

Now what are they going to do with cases of "Weiner/Holder" stickers? Laughing

When Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had their son, I wondered what they were thinking by naming him Shiloh. He's in elementary school now and I wonder how long it will take the little tykes to realize Shiloh Pitt sounds a lot like "Pilo-S.....".

My wife and I years ago watched a medical documentary. When it was over we were watching the credits. One of the doctors in the documentary was Dr. Peter Dick!

There is a movie producer named Peter Guber. And, he teams up occasionally with another guy whose last name is Peters. So, you get this in the credits: "A Guber-Peters Production."

Priceless.
