I was out smoking my pipe outside of the building where I teach adults about computer networking, just enjoying a quick break. One of my new students saw me and came over where he proceeded to just stare at me then he finally said, "Pipe."

I think he was trying to process the whole thing but just couldn't.

We ended up having a pretty good conversation that ended with him muttering that he might have to try a pipe. So it ended well but started off awkward. For him, I was just relaxing.

Any stories from you guys?

I teach job readiness skills to adults. My demographic understands crack and pipe, but tobacco only goes in cigarettes. I would probably get punched in the face if I smoked a pipe in front of my students? Tobacco pipes equal rich jerk in the minds of felons.

When I was in IT/Telecom on Wall St. years ago the smoke of the day was cigarettes for coping with pressure and just having minute or two be outside. These days I smoke at home.
