This year I bought a 29 er single sped bike.

You don't have to worry about changing gears because their is only one.
You just sit there and peddle.
Depending on the gears you can go at a reasonable speed a and get a great workout.

I rode a friends Gary Fisher with 29" wheels, wild stuff (fully suspended 21 speed mountain bike).
That is an unusual bike niche you are in!

Looks like the 59 Schwinn I had as a kid after I stripped it down,,,,
