I can certainly understand how that would happen, John. Beautiful pipe!

Great looking pipe. I have been looking into a pipe with a bamboo extension recently just haven't pulled the trigger yet

If the answer is already obvious - please pardon the very newbie question...

Was the bamboo extension part of the original pipe design? or was it cut later and added between the shank and the stem?

This makes me curious about changing the design of at least one pipe in my collection with a very short shank and stubby stem, which I don't smoke much because I feel like the bowl is right under my nose.

Thanks!

Hi Roogles -

Bamboo extensions are SOP for some pipe makers. You'll find them on some moderately priced pipes as well as on the high ends like Dunhill.
