...but I hope I'm welcome anyway Smile

Right now, I guess you could say I'm at the "curious" stage. I have never smoked a pipe but I love fly fishing and a couple of weeks ago I for some reason started thinking that maybe I should get a pipe for my fishing trips - to make those skunking days a bit more enjoyable...

I've started to read a bit and pipe smoking is much more fascinating than I thought it would be. It might seem a bit weird to pick up such a hobby "from nowhere", at least here in Sweden where we are absurdly legalistic about all things smoky - but it does fascinate me.

Not sure I'll ever actually pick up a pipe and smoke it, but I guess registering here might be the first step on a long and never-ending journey, even though I don't want to admit it. Rolling Eyes

So, what would be the ultimate fishing pipe? I'm thinking a smallish chamber but big thick bowl...

Corncobs are great for fishing, and if you'd like to learn more about them I invite you to read both my Primer and Buyers Guiide, as well as looking at the Missouri Meerschaum site. Cobs are very affordable, lightweight, easy to care for, and rugged.

Thanks everyone! I've seen pictures of those Boswell vest pipes - some of them are absolutely gorgeous! I need to examine corncobs more as well. It's a new world to discover! Smile
