Has it been your experience that people think that way? It's quite the opposite here...I suspect thats a function of the high Irish population. When I used to work in town I used to see IRA graffiti everywhere.

It's a matter of location and 'religion'.
Plus most hill folk try to pretend to be Scotish. Lol
Well Scotish and Indian.

everyone throughout history has been boned one way or another,,,injustice [ perceived or real ] is a mainstay of regional unity.

everyone gets to be outraged about their own particular historical debacle and cry in their beer. those are the rules.

Yesterday I was nowhere near the forums, or for that matter, a fake Irish pub and glad of it. The Irish 3/8ths in me often gets drawn into arguments such as these, and I get damn tired of explaining to the ignorant masses why I'm wearing orange instead of green. Now I just wear this shirt and a "pog mo thoin" look on my face and wait for the day to be over...

you don't have to explain your Orange George....
I don't have to agree with you to understand your position.

So does the post, but you'd need to know a bit of Gaelic to spot it.

There's no "V" in the Gaelic alphabet. "Pog mo thoin," pronounced and sometimes spelled "Pouge Mahone", is not exactly an Irish blessing.

So I was in NH this weekend and I drove by a road bearing this name...decided to stop and take a pic. Your profile says you live in Michigan George....lol is this where your summer home is perhaps?

Holy shite! That's hilarious. I guess no one on the board approving street signs spoke Gaelic either. Roughly translated, these folks live on "Kiss My Backside Road".
