I learned something new? From Wikipedia? I'm ashamed. I hope it was accurate. Laughing There was no Mickey Mouse reference, so I suppose I'm okay. Cool

The version I just read was accurate if a bit simplistically pro-irish. Of course, by now, someone may have inserted the Mickey Mouse reference Very Happy

It was St Patricks day of course I was gonna post something pro Irish Laughing I actually learned about this a few days ago when Nike announced they was to make a shoe in honor of the Irish and they would be black and tan and hold the same name. You can imagine how that went over

Marketers and their sly ignorance never cease to amaze me.

Not the same realm, but more funny, the cruise ship commercials that featured the Iggy Pop song "Lust For Life?" Yeah, all about being spun out of your gourd on drugs, mostly heroin.

Being half Irish Catholic myself, and living in an Irish Catholic "stronghold" of sorts--Northern CT is full of Irish from Boston and NYC, my Grandfather had some wild stories from Hell's Kitchen--I could never understand the appeal to walking into a bar and ordering a black and tan.

All the "bro's" sporting Irish flag and clover tattoos should open up a book once in while.

Well, I'm not Irish, not even for the day. My Best wishes to Irish folks. I like drinking black & tans without the negative dogmatic association. It's just good beer.

It runs deeper than that.

If you order a Bushmill's, you're a Prod.

If you order a Jamieson's, you're a Mick.

In an Irish pub, you've defined yourself inside of five minutes.

What a Face
