I'm a PB devotee. Eat it daily, sometimes twice. I could exist on it!

Been groovin' on this brand for many years-

Only ground peanuts and less than 1% salt. No emulsifiers, sweetners, or preservatives. Just natural peanut goodness!

Oil on top, so one has to stir it up first.

Cheers,

RR

I've seen that brand at the "Birkenstock Wholesome Food" store around here! 'Fraid at almost 3 times the price of the store brand it doesn't find it's way into my pantry very often Razz The BEST PB I ever had was the stuff my family got in the "comodities" food we used to get. Came in a No.10 tin can, almost 3#s as I recall, and when my mother opened the can to put it in jars with lids to use, she had to stir the oil that had risen to the top. That stuff was basically just creamed peanuts with no additives and tasted like peanuts. Don't know if it's still made any more for the gov't. but it was GOOD Razz

Our first family vacation to the Caribbean was to Ambergris Key, Belize.
We brought peanut butter to snack on. The staff at the hotel was nuts
for American peanut butter. We gave em most of two jars, creamy and
crunchy. After that, we always brought extra to leave with the tip.

I like Planters peanut butter. The stuff actually tastes like peanuts.

I heard someone say they like peanut butter and sardine sandwiches. For some reason that stuck in my mind.
I tried it and have been eating them for years now. Sounds like shite but is actually good IF you like sardines as much as I do.

Peanut butter and bologna is damned good too!

I also enjoy chunky peanut butter, and take it on most of my backpacking/canoe trips. But it's also a great addition to many cooked foods. Tai peanut sauce is great. I also add a large dollop to most of what ever I bake that's chocolate based (cookies, tapioca, frosting etc.).

An let's not forget how much fun it is for both you and your dog to smear a dollop on the roof of their mouth and watch them lick it for the next half hour. Laughing

I'm surprised that they didn't have access to it. Back in the mid '80s I lived in Bz (granted, San Ignacio near the Guta. border) and the local Mennonites grew a lot of peanuts and we could get their home-made PB at just about every store in Cayo. Along with a loaf of their wonderful home-made bread, it was what we lived on as graduate students. (Well, some level of rum and beer was included, to round out the necessary food groups).

I remember those "commodities"! The PB was good,as was the rest of the stuff we got. Ate good for a week or two (family of 11-doesn't last long) then it was back to beans, taters and cornbread.
Now days I like PB mixed with a pat of butter (real butter) and honey and eat it on wheat toast.

That's just down right cruel...but our Griff with her rough tongue takes more time than that. Our dachshund has a smoother tongue and only takes a few minutes.

For my self, I've always put PB on anything it'll stick to. Laughing As I've gotten older my slower metabolism has forced me from a big jar a week down to a smaller jar of Skippy Peter Pan whipped.

There's already a peanut butter tobac if I'm remembering correctly.
It's ether Stokkebye, Altadis or C&D. Can't remember which right now.

I can kill a huge jar of PB in a week, along with the huge jar of strawberry jelly and about 2 gallons of milk. Thats what happens when you was raised on a farm and most of the stuff you ate and drank was produced there and just made into whatever by your grandmother. I was forever getting my hand smacked for grabbing something Grandma was getting ready to can or whatever lol. Those was the days when my youngest uncle and I would camp out on sat nights watching sat night live ,with a jar of pb, a jar of strawberry jelly , a loaf of homemade bread and a gallon of milk.

If anyone is familiar with martins BBQ potato chips if they came in the house my uncle and I was like piranas in a feeding frenzy, we would fight to the death for those! if you order them online and have a taste you will fully understand the power of these chips. We will put it like this, if the Rebel alliance had them and invited the dark side to convert so they could have some as well, even the emporer would switch over LMAO

Another weird sounding but great tasting one is PB, honey and pickles. Great. When I first did it was to see if I could make something that looked good but would taste bad to fool others in the household. Well, I liked it and then they could not have it. In the last couple of years I have seen that I am not the only person to both try and like this combination.

That said, my favorite is PB with my homemade strawberry preserves on a lightly toasted bagel.

Now here's a project for DocManhattan.

His whiskey infusion with bacon proved possible, so why not a PB infused one!?

I'm sure Boswell's already tried a few blends with PB. Razz
