Lots of brothers going through temp and humidity extremes right now.

Here in W Washington we've been having a typical June. Meaning that it's been mostly cool and rainy. News says something like the 3rd rainiest June on record.

Daytime temps mostly in the upper 50s/low 60s for the first half of the month. Lows in the upper 40s/low 50s.

Got into the low 70s for a few days this week with sun! Now back into the mid 60s and drizzle. We normally don't get our summer until July 5, as the saying goes!

And I'm still wearing longjohns and two sweatshirts!

Laughing

Howzabout you?

Cheers,

RR

Hot and Dry here in Eastern Missouri - almost like the weather Kyle is used to.

100+ all week (and weekend) with 20% or less humidity = hot and dry as hell. Garden dying, lawn already dead, water/electric conservation warnings already issued, many 4th of July Firework's Displays cancelled, fires popping up everyday, no rain forecasted for at least another week...

Yup - just keeps getting better and better...

Over in Afghanistan right now. That isn't too bad, it is dry heat. A couple years ago it was way worse in Iraq.

My apologies brother. If you're deployed in that sandbox I give you my most sincere support and best wishes.

Be safe, and thank you for your support and dedication.

Highs in the lower 90s, lows in the upper 70s
chance of afternoon showers. Repeat daily through
September with the exception of hurricanes. Laughing

It's been relatively cool, 85 - 95 F daytime and 55 - 75 F nighttime, pretty average. Been really dry here too, just waiting for the next idiot to start a blaze. Neutral

I was in Northern VA yesterday, Alexandria and snapped this in my car on the DC beltway. Yikes, the highest car gauge temp I've ever seen. When I got home, the entire neighborhood was in our pool and we made a party out of it for the evening, until a huge storm rolled in at 10 PM, dropping temps to the 70's. Very pleasant here this AM.

Hotter than usual for this time of year . . . 100-105 yesterday through late next week; fortunately the humidity isn't too bad.

Breaking records in Arkieland, couple of 105 days and it's always humid in the Mid-South. But I'm in Jakarta at present and being close to the equator, it's a pretty constant mid to upper 80s every day, high humidity, but usually a breeze. Throw in air quality (arguably the worst I've ever experienced in life) and I'd rather be sweltering back home. There's something about 10 million + two-stroke motorcycles with somewhere over two million cars, trucks, and minis (none of which have had a tune-up, ever) then put them on an antiquated, over-taxed road system so no one moves for hours that kind of ruins the air quality, but I can't quite put my finger on the cause? Laughing

Very good to see you post Dr. Jeff. And also quite interesting to get your views on the area.

I take it you're there to teach? Must be a hoot! Please report in on a separate thread.

Will do in the next week or so. Internet connections are lousy at best at most of the places we're staying at, so I can't load pix or videos. Not really teaching, it's a research project. Diaspora Chinese communities throughout SE Asia, (and an in depth analysis of street food, local beers, and clove cigarets). Laughing

Still cool and rainy here in W. Washington. Got into the low/mid-60s today. Rained good last night.

Local news says we'll start to enter a dry and sunny period starting tomorrow. Might get up to 80 later this weekend, but still cooling off to the 60s at night.

Pretty much the same as every year. Don't get our summer until July 5th. You can just about lay money on it!

sunny

Low to mid nineties here on Long Island. Humid as usual.

The worst part is that the AC is broken in the store I manage. It's a 50 yo concrete bldg with a steel roof. Its 88 degrees inside @10am when I open then quickly rises to the upper nineties by 2 o'clock.

Today I took a picture of a 99 degree thermostat reading and sent it to my boss after three days of him ignoring my complaints. He's been stonewalling me because he doesn't want to pay to get it fixed. Finally he responded saying he would send an HVAC guy. I wasn't sure whether or not to find him and beat the tar out of him, or report him to corporate/HR dept.

You know those re-usable ice cube sheets? They look like plastic bubble wrap but filled with water instead air? I've got my laptop sitting on a frozen one right now to keep it cool. 97 outside, 88 indoors without AC. Expecting triple digits this weekend.

Upper 80s and humid all day (which is an improvement over the past week, actually)...one heck of a line of storms just went through the area. Looks like lots of trees are down, but we've still go power and the temp is a bit more comfortable.

94F today, not so bad. They put the fire out from the car that ran (and wrecked) in a ravine from the police chase, but the guy's still at large. The heat's mostly on him.
