Ordered and paid for back in March, just got here yesterday. Rosslare Classic 80S. Crummy quick pics, but batteries were dying in the camera.

You know I have a weak spot for 80S shapes...what a beaut. Cool Great photography, by the way.

I think the lighting is a mess in the pics, and my set up needs to show the shape of the pipe better. But for 30 seconds of quick snaps while the red blinking battery light light was going off, it ain't bad.

Peterson was backed up on filling orders, this one took a long time, but it's a beaut with some nice grain and a great finish that doesn't show well in the photos. Thankfully the two minor, tiny blemishes (sandpits) were not filled, but were left and stained over. Breaking it in with Uhle's 00, pipe cleaner passes easily, smokes very nicely.

...I take it there's a trick to this with the 80S? scratch Mine with that "chamber" in the shank, I have prodded and poked, stabbed and twisted pipe cleaners, and can't ever seem to get 'em to line up.

Cool

I think it's a matter of how high the draft hole is drilled in the mortise Kyle. This one is closer to the middle than the top, maybe halfway between dead center and too high to pass a cleaner. A little kink in the end of the pipe cleaner and it zooms right through. I have 2 80S models and 4 999's and only 1 absolutely will not pass a cleaner, and it's a spigot pipe so it doesn't really matter. I think I'm just lucky.

I have an even dozen Peterson pipes now and am done buying anything else this year. No, really Laughing ... OK, the BOB POY maybe..... I sold off pipes to acquire the last round of Petersons, and those pipe sale funds have been used up.

I do have one more Peterson coming, although it too has already been paid for from the funds from this past springs pipe sale. I bought that pre republic 999 fat boy and sent it off to LL at Precision Pipe Repair for an acrylic replacement fishtail stem to replace the old funky vulcanite P lip thang that it came with. I'm guessing that pipe should be coming back my way fairly soon, and when it does I'll do a proper photo shoot of my Peterson collection Cool

Nice !

Looking at picture #4, I had to enlarge it way big to see the inscription on the band said "Peterson / Dublin."

It looked so much like "Puff Daddy" . . . lol!

What a Face

Great looking pipe PD. One of my favorite shapes and the amber stem sets it off nicely.

Cheers,

One of my favorite Peterson lines. I got this 999 last year and it has become my Royal Blend pipe of choice! They are some nice smoking pipes for sure! Razz

I have the twin to that 999 monbla, the Flame Grain line. Gorgeous pipes.

I thought those Flame Grains were a step above the Rosslare Line? My 999 is a Rosslare as yours is.

The pipe I showed earlier in this thread is a Rosslare Classic 80S, but I have a 999 Flame Grain too, shown below. The Rosslare has a much redder hue than the Flame Grain.
