As part of an exchange with Ocelot, I received a sizable serving of Sunrise Smoke. I had tried a brief exchange with this in another pipe, but the ghost of Lake was still hiding in that briar, so this ribbon blend receives a second chance in my cob, slightly packed.
The marketing double-talk references this blend for anyone wo is a fan of Dunhill EMP. You must ignore this completely. Not even in the same realm.
The tin smell is light and sweet, but with an undertone I just couldn't place. Certainly an aromatic.
On first light, the overripe fruit and sweetness rolls onto the tongue, coating it. There is something in the aftertaste as well: like copper, or the after effect of a 9-volt battery on the tongue. Not the spark, but the metallic flavor left behind. I really can't taste the Lat in this blend due to the sweet yet odd casing.
Room note is nutty, warm, and spicy - nothing like what one tastes at all. Thick plumes of cool white smoke are easily had, but the sugary casing heats up the pipe rather quickly.
There isn't much notable on the relight.
If compared to EMP, then Ipit completely fails to shine. On its own, it is a mild smokable aro, but seems to lack any real interesting qualities other than a strange aftertaste that perhaps one of you can actually identify.
Thanks to Ocelot for the sample!
