So last night I sat down with a bottle of Harpoon Oktoberfest and a bowl of G&H Louisiana Perique Flake and turned on the radio to listen to the ball game when this little lady showed up:

She isn't my cat, she's a stray who occasionally hangs out on in the alley behind our house. She always comes around when I sit outside - I wonder if she likes the smell of the smoke? - but last night she actually crawled up and curled into a ball on my lap. She sat there until I was done. I felt bad having to leave her outside, but my cats would not have appreciated an interloper in their house.

How nice! I love cats but am dreadfully allergic to them. About 20 years ago I had a tomcat named William Shakespeare. He adored me and I adored him but until he died I had to endure years of itchy eyes, runny nose and red blotches. Laughing

I still miss him though. Crying or Very sad

Cats adopt people. You may already be marked!

My smoking companion is the family dog. My dog will try and lead me to my pipes when he wants me to smoke. He'll then grab a rawhide bone and wait by the back door. He will head to the freestanding swing and wait for me to pick a side. Once seated he'll start chewing his bone and I will smoke.

Funny dog.

Edit: typing with left hand while right is on the mend

That's just awesome. I want an animal again at some point...dog of course since I just don't much like cats. Or maybe a pet monkey I can teach to smoke a pipe too, that would rock....PETA would just love me lol.

Kewl!

My male pixi-bob Gomez likes to come up for attention when I'm in my recliner smoking a pipe. Don't think he's attracted by the smoke since if it gets too much he'll bail. But he'll tolerate it if I don't blow the smoke his way.

That pic sure reminds me of my buddy Gomez and his ways.

Cheers,

RR
