A very exceptional white wine made by a gentle craftswoman in France. My last bottle of 2009. The 2010 wasn't as good, but I guess I'll have to pick up a few.

Kicking some Peterson's Connoisseur's Choice with it...nice combo.

Last night, A Guinness or two... and for tonight, I'm thinking about picking up some Founders Porter. (Dark, Rich, and Sexy).

What would you guys recommend for a single malt irish whiskey?

For Irish Whiskey, I would recommend this. A little pricey, but it is some very good juice!

YES! Pound for pound, my number one Irish whiskey. This is incredible stuff.

Now I'm off to have a bit before turning in.

Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye IPA. My first one of this season. Living less than 100 miles from the brewery has its advantages. Beer from them is so amazingly consistent. There's pretty much nothing that that brewery can't do.

Well's Banana Bread Beer. This stuff is actually quite nice. I am a lover of Young's Double Chocolate Stout. This beer comes from the same brewery.

Now if I can only find a tobacco pairing. Peanut Butter aromatic? I think not. Razz

A nice French Chardonnay. Corsin St. Veran. Full, but not oaky, with great mouthful and fruit flavor, a little minerality on the finish.

Knob on the rocks.

Well, "rock" technically - one nice biggie cube :-) .

A few weeks ago the family took my mother out to brunch. So we're leaving the restaurant. My mother (at the time) is on crutches so I pull the car around and my wife and daughter are helping her to the car. My 11 year old son is nowhere to be found. Finally, one of the bartenders (politely) drags him out of the front door and informs us he had taken a seat at the bar and ordered a "Knob Creek on the rocks" - at which point she escorted him out :-) .

I smacked him upside the head and said: Do it right kid, it's "Knob on the rocks".

Doody!

My current favorite everyday brewski, Killian's Red. Beer snobs look down their noses at it, but I don't care. Something about Killian's just clicks for me. For an everyday red-amber ale, it's been my go-to brew for several years.

Just finished off a bottle of The Famous Grouse 21 Year Old Malt that I've had since 1987. Sorry to see it go, but now there's room for a worthy successor. Twisted Evil

Trader Joe's Stockyard Oatmeal Stout...a deep, dark, rich stout that has a nice balance between light sweetness and zesty (but not too bitter) hops, with a mouth-filling flavor of malt and dark chocolate, and a coffee plus roasted oats aroma. Very nice stuff indeed. This might become a new favorite.
