My town went for the zombie walk world record last night. With 3,986 walking dead, we missed our goal by 107 bodies. Sad Collected a helluva lot of food for Loaves and Fishes, though.

That's pretty cool.

Perhaps next time your town will grab the record.

Shame for the lack of a few undead, but that looks damn impressive anyway! Ours have been way smaller in scale, but great fun nevertheless.

When I was perhaps 18 or so I remember wearing a straitjacket to a fancy dress party, and taking my role rather seriously. Later I remember describing the experience to this really wise older woman, who noted absentmindedly: "I suppose that sometimes one needs to physically wear a straitjacket to get rid of the internalized one." So... perhaps sometimes dressing up as dead gives a chance to be a bit more alive? Laughing

We can reason by comparison or contrast. To know what something is you look at its opposite.

This thread took an odd turn toward the introspective, didn't it?

2nd pic, dead center. See the yellow hardhat? That's me. (I think) I stupidly forgot my camera, but I didn't see anyone else in a hardhat, so I'm guessing that's me. My friends and I were gonna do work-related death themes. I had planned to have a broken chainsaw blade hanging from a gaping neck wound, but ran out of time. My favorites were a dog with an exposed brain and a zombie dad with approximately 2/3 of a child on his shoulders.

my family at Long Beach zombie walk 3 years ago

Me and my eldest daughter did make up, I handled special effects ans she dialed them in.

If you look up zombie walks on wikipedia it will say the first zombie walk ever was in Sacramento, and was the brain child of Bryna Lovig, who just happens to be my brother's wife. So you know... I know famous people

the next year we went as zombie killers in my 68 Chevy zombie killer truck, my wife was driving, I am the guy pulled out of the truck wearing the wife beater. You can't hear it, but as we turned the corner and started to drive in they blasted the flight of the Valkyries and it was pretty f'n cool. We should have spend more time on the weapons, but we have lots of stuff to do each week

I understand having fun and cutting loose, but please tell me that underneath all that make up the chevy made it out alive.
