This is an unmarked Made in France of Algerian Briar. Nice little group 3 Dublin!

This is a Bertram from Washington DC. It is marked 50, which means it was a $5.00 pipe back in the day. It is a group 4 Prince.

In my first attempt at picking up the pipe back in the late 1970's and early 80's, I had a P-lip Peterson that was a dead ringer for that prince. Wish I still had it. Nice pipe.

Those are illustrations of the kind of pipes that offer the greatest enjoyment & value
at the lowest (probable) cost. Nice briar, nice shapes, well broken-in, and without a
"name" jacking the price up beyond what the pipe itself deserves on its own merits.

Well done !

Got one (very old & well used) back in 1975 -- still going strong today cheers

Truthfully I wish I could stumble across more no-name underdog pipes...I have a handful that have been very reliable. My Tinder Box doesn't get many estate pipes, and when they do, they're all big-name $$$-commanding clubs.
