Santa came to see me.. Which was pretty cool because he was the only person that got me anything.

Look for real it's not about what you get, but it kinda hurts watching the wife and kids open presents.. then going to the family gathering and watching everyone open presents.. then going to the big extended family gathering and watching everyone open presents.. all while you have nothing.

So anyway, I was supposed to work yesterday.. and I did drive 2 hrs in my personal vehicle, but then the load postponed.. so back home I go. I'm putzing around and find an envelope addressed to me, no return addy (i suspect Santa lives in Mexico. No not that Mexico ).
I open it and Santa had hand written me a little note and gave me a gift certificate good for 5.64 gallons of gas and a cup of coffee. Thanks Santa. I desperately needed both this morning !

Thank you, thank you , thank you. Not to sound all girly gushy buy Santa I really appreciate you thinking of me down through the years.

...And what happened then?
Well, in BoBville they say,
that PB's small heart
grew three sizes that day. Razz

I've got a far bigger heart than some of you johnny come lately idiots realize.
There's a difference between not liking knuckleheads and having a hard/no heart.

But anywho. Santa has taken care of me for a lot of years now and I am appreciative.

I'll put PeeBee's heart up against anybody's. & PeeBee's will top them.

Same with PeeDee's.

I got a jar of cashews from Mrs. Yak (her girlfriend's father sells them as a fundraiser for some outfit he belongs to, so everybody she knows gets one) and a Dilbert calendar (a long-running gag here).

Does me fine, thanks.

It's about giving. Not getting.

She gave her girlfriend (from little on up) the two cats that always come to her & get on her lap when she visits. Girlfriend LOVES those two, and her own died last year, leaving a cat void. Greater love hath nobody than that. She's tickled beyond pink -- incandescent.

It's all in how you look at it.

What a Face

PeeBee, I know how you feel to some degree. Every year it's the same, my mother gets all the gifts to keep her from crying and freaking out, and we get nothing just to streamline the process...gets it over with quicker. In few "better years" back in the 80s when I was a kid, it wasn't much different, just the price tag went up, and I still had a little hopeful innocence wondering if I'd get something cool. Didn't happen, so Santa was a dick and a fraud even before I knew his secret.

This place last year was the FIRST TIME in DECADES anyone thought/gave of me to the point where I was speechless (besides Z) and spoil't me rott'n. Then my bombing. And this year's Santa is worth waiting for--details on that later. One humble em-effer. Christmas cards/gifts received from family: one. Christmas cards/gifts received from BoB'ers: five. It wasn't big stuff, but it was thoughtful. Not the mechanical, automatic bullsh*t people expect. Very personal. I forgot what that was like. Sounds crazy, but that part of my heart must have atrophied a bit.

Long story short, I get ya, bro. I'm a giver. I'm the one that's given my down-n-out friends the spoiling when I got nothing, and that was fine. The last few years I couldn't even do that (and the accident left everyone stressed and broke), and lo, no wonder the depression set in. I don't need jack sh*t--except the need to see other people feel thought about and to make them smile.

It's just cool when just one person does that for ya...it's pretty golden. You deserve it PeeB, I dig your big heart. That's why you got a pink stick. Razz

Prolly shouldn't tell this, but.... I know of a certain newbie on the BoB who experienced PB's BIG heart when he was trying to work a trade with a former regular BoBer and didn't have enough tobacco to make the deal. BB stepped in and made up the shortage so the deal would go through. Yep, he has a bigger heart than most know. cheers

Lol...
I'd actually forgot about that.. no biggie. I was tickled to do it.

Anyway, Santa doesn't like publicity.. he wouldn't even sign his name for a couple year.. that's ok.. I know he will read this.

Santa is less insecure than I am. I feel genuinely crappy about getting so much from folks here and feeling like I can't return it in kind. Laughing I'm kind of a numbers guy in that regard. Piss poor Secret Santa, but meh. Santa visited a whorehouse to buy toys for all the good girls and boys. Kind of hard to hide that sh*t.

Laughing

Hahaha well...no. That washes the "spirit" out of the stuff. It has a certain patina, feel and aroma that's unparalleled.

I have plenty of pipes and tobacco. 12 pipes and about 2 milk crates and 1 Milk crate size box of tobacco.

Lol. I never said I got rid of everything, I just got rid of most everything.
