PostSubject: Anybody know any good books on pipemaking?   Sun Dec 30, 2012 3:16 am

Hi! I was thinking about making my own pipe and I realized I'm totally clueless on wood working or wood working tools. Can anyone recommend any good books on the subject? I know what type of pipes I like and I think I could cut them, but the stems are another matter entirely. Staining and sealing as well.

Any help would be appreciated.

This is the only pipe making book that I know of.

PIMO Book

It is a little dated, but contains lots of good information.

Hope this helps.

Nick - I have an extra copy of the PIMO book (PIMO's Guide To Pipe Crafting At Home), and I don't need 2 copies. Laughing

PM me your address and I'll send you my extra copy...

Why would he have two cop- ahh. Another case of pipe smoking obsessive compulsion. I notice there's a lot of that in this hobby.

Actually I ordered the first copy and after about a month it never arrived. Presuming it was lost in the mail, I contacted the seller and they sent me another copy. About 2 weeks after I received the 2nd copy the 1st copy shows up - albeit 2 months after I purchased it. I contacted the seller and they said to keep them both. Apparently having me return it wasn't worth the hassle to them...

This is the perfect opportunity to move the 2nd copy and help a new Brother out. Cool

I had the exact same thing happen to me when I bought 'Year One' with Jack Black on DVD.

Of course, then I watched Year One, and understood why they were so keen to get rid of them.

Greyson - Year One, agreed, not too great a comedy. Pick of Destiny- better comedy, School of Rock- Loved it!

Rob - Again, thank you. Very Happy

I'm enjoying it over a bowl of Imagine, which tastes delicious. What type of blend is this? It's kinda funny, one question only leads to more questions.

I'll second this. I read through the PIMO book, and while it was a little helpful it doesn't even compare to the info over on the forum.
