PostSubject: Removing Bowl Coating   Fri Jan 11, 2013 11:39 am

Since I am of the opinion that bowl coatings are wrought by only crazy batshit carvers <joke> <joke>, I want to rid myself of same in a MisterE bomb-wrought Peterson Donegal (though a machine did the rustication, I dig it!).

The problem is that I am terminally inept in all matters mechanical. When I try to sand a chamber the inner rim always gets blasted, i.e. gets too much sandy attention.

Advice? Is there such a product like "Remove-O Bowl-O Coating" that you can just pour in, leave overnight and tidy up the next morning?

if you wrap a piece of sandpaper around a round dowel that you can pick up at any hardware store you should not have any problems sanding it.

Old pencils and pens work well for this as well.

I try wet paper towels twisted into the bowl to see if it's easily dissolved, but have tried the dowel/pencil trick with sandpaper with awesome results.

Crazy-ass carvers and their coatings. Sheesh! lol!

Cool

I have had good luck soaking a paper towel in everclear and setting it in there , then cleaning out the gunk.

Thanks guys for your ideas. But of them all Hermit's "Ultra-Strip" is the winner. No it's not Remove-O Bowl-O Coating, but it will do:)Smile.

That stuff is mainly used for those girls that do the "body paint clothing." Extreme chemical strip show.
