I really like this one, the contrast of the silver band of the walnut-esque stain is really eye catching

Nice work Rev

Very nice Rev, needs a bit of work tidying the shank and stem at the band, well, unless you have intentionally gone for a aged distressed look, in which case it's awesome.

that was a bit hard without a lathe, I was trying to make it as clean as possible, but I couldn't sand into the silver, and any tape that would protect the silver was thick enough to make me need to hand sand after Smile I am pretty happy with how it turned out, but... I want a damned lathe

Again very nicely designed, as Kirk pointed out there is a slight appearance of a broken line where the stem attaches, but pretty much flawless in all other respects.

I love it just as it is Rev, and considering you are doing it by hand, and actually doing it 'by hand' and not with a machine this pipe is absolutely breath-taking, it is awesome just as it is mate, should it that I could do so mate, I'd buy it off you in a flash. Wink

If you're doing that without a lathe, I'm very curious to see what happens when you DO get one... Shocked

The difference between tenacity and talent: Tenacity is me gouging away at pipes and being ignorantly proud of them, talent is knowing that with the same tools, you Rev, can actually make something beautiful. Honesty is nodding and knowing when to walk away and admit to yourself you probably shouldn't be doing (insert terrible-outcome effort here) and leave it to others. Laughing

Oh, I'll still carve pipes, I think I realized recently I'm not going to make money doing it. You sir, will. Even participants in the Special Olympics are having fun. That's what counts. Razz

Very impressed with your work Rev & the fact that your doing this all by hand is amazing. You must be putting alot of time into your pipes. I've done the same thing building knives by hand & sanding to a mirror finsh with 200 -2000 grit sand paper wrapped around a butter knife. Not a way to make a living but very satisfying when you have the end product 30-40 hrs later. Keep up the good work & keep aquiring more tools as you go. I'm sure your not going to be able to keep up when the orders start rolling in. I bet your good natured boss is going to regret giving you the time to build your own business when pipe making becomes your full time job.

Impressive, I was going to ask who the maker was and learned you made it as I kept reading and it made it all the better looking as I read on, smoke it in good health.
