Talk about a bunch of crap! Evil or Very Mad

I know it's for a good cause and all, but $3.50 a box is Highway Robbery. They're good, but not that good. Mad
Then - when they come in - you have to collect money from the dead-beats that ordered them. Instead of paying ahead of time (or right when they order them) they always want to pay when the cookies come in. Problem is, they usually don't have the money at that time and it takes even longer for this whole thing to be over. Mad

But - it's for my daughter. She's in Girl Scouts and insisted on selling cookies again this year so what can I do...

Sorry all, just had to vent. Returning to normal now.

Cool

I'm paying $4.00 a box at work. The cookies are no where as good as they were years ago.

I love those Samoas! I don't buy from the parents (I believe it takes away from the kids experience). If the kid does not know where the money goes I ask them to find out and come back to tell me and I will buy from them.
I've been told that I shouldn't be like that.

They could charge $6 a box for those suckers and I still wouldn't be able to turn down Samoas or Thin Mints.

No you won't. I'll let you know when they come available next year and I'll ship you 4 boxes - if you pay me for them, that is. Laughing

I guess that means there'll be at least one box of cookies in this month's bomb? (one way to deal with those boxes the deadbeats don't pay for)

Not this month, Dr. T. The cookies don't come in until the end of Feb, so from March on (not long though Laughing ) that could possibly happen. Twisted Evil

I can't believe no one's asked the obvious question yet:
Are they still made from real Girl Scouts?

I agree. About 5-6 years ago something about the Thin Mints recipe changed dramatically. They are overly sweet now.

Greyson sent me a container of shortbread cookies from a shop near his place that would have the bakery producing the Girl Scout cookies hiding their heads in shame.

I actually felt my arteries hardening while eating them. Razz

Around here the going rate is $5, and the girls set up tables and sell them outside of stores and I find it hard to say no. My favorites are shortbread and thin mints, but those coconut ones a pretty good too.
