Capstan Original Navy Cut in a Soren freehand - all cozily cubed up and considerably more dry than I usually smoke - and it tastes gooooood! Shocked Must start experimenting with drier tobacco.

I don't usually post about a blend until I've had at least an ounce or two, but after half a bowl of Exhausted Rooster this is already some really, really good stuff!

1947 Sir Walter Raleigh, is this a blend or truly a 1947 tin?

It was SWR from 1947. A generous friend scored an unopened tin and was kind enough to share a small sample with me. In fact, I'm smoking the very last of my sample now in a medium bend beater 1979 Aalborg natural freehand made by Nording. I sure enjoyed it! It was very flavorful and rich in taste. I'd say it was a purer smoke than the current version, which I also like. He also had ERR from 1945, a sample of which I finished a few days ago. Hard to believe this stuff existed until now. Wish I had more, but to even get a sample was a treat I'll not soon forget.

The last of the McClelland Navy Cavendish in a mid-70s slight bend black sandblasted English Rustic 120 billiard. It was just enough for half a bowl. Very tasty stuff.

Just lit my first bowl of the day. Starting out with some of "Don's Blend" ( Dunhill Flake) in one of my "...missdrilled, golf club" Charatan Special pots. These big wide bowls just make flakes SING Razz
