Well, here is another stab at a freehand. For several reasons this one wasn't up to my quality standards so it got sold off real cheap.

I tell ya what I think to it, I think you need to make another just like it and feel that it is so awful that you absolutely have to give it away before it offends your eyes any longer, then send it off to me... mwahahahaha Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

I think it is an amazing pipe, the person who got it at a bargain price must be absolutely over the moon, fantastic work is my thoughts on it, bravo. cheers

I agree, unless there's something wrong with the drilling that you can't see what could possibly be wrong with that pipe. It's a beauty. Fit & finish/flow look amazing.

If you look closely in the second pic, you will see a flaw in the side of the shank. The tail end of which (probably about a pin head in size) is actually inside the mortise.

The new owner smoked it lasr night and confirmed what I feared. Moisture tends to leak out through the side mid smoke. Maybe it will eventually cake up. I don't know. Could cause a lot of expansion and contraction and crack the shank.

On the other hand it could last 100 years.

My eyesight is terrible chap, can't see a flaw, is it so long you couldn't have just shorten the shank a little?
