For those of you who have been to the DIY boards, I refinished an old favorite of mine and brought it back into service this evening with some Frog Morton Across the Pond.
This poker suffered some battle wounds off the coast of Iran, Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia (take your pick
); the shellac that Baraccini used had bubbled up one hot evening out on the flight deck of the Gettysburg (seen in my avatar). I was a little more than upset... I thought it was ruined for the most part and stopped using it all together up until I acquired some orange dye and some sandpaper nearly 2 years later.
Lo and behold, after some elbow grease (and a quick buff with some wax), we're back in the saddle!

I've read a few people say these are some relatively cheap pipes, and they are, but I'm not about to trade this one off any time soon.
Not after how well it still smokes for me.
Oh and if anyone has more suggestions for a guy who can't seem to get enough FMATP, kindly let me know!
