Cumberland Acrylic Stem? I didn't know there was such a beast.
Very nice looking pipe, If I hadn't purchased my first bulldog I'd be tempted.

Good lookin' apple.

Just for reference, "cumberland" (brindle) refers to the material, not the color. Cumberland can probably be summarized as ebonite with colored swirls in it, which are most commonly, but not limited to, red. That's a lovely piece of acrylic, though.

Where do you guys source that stuff? Just curious. If you're willing to tell me, that is. Rusticated Bent Apple 710492 I've been more taken by acrylic stem performance lately, and the fact there's a cumberland option now is great.

It's likely being marketed as such because the coloring is similar to cumberland/brindle. Common vocabulary aids in communication. Doesn't turn acrylic into cumberland, though.

Can anyone link me to the site where it's being marketed as such? It's not on PME and I wasn't able to find it elsewhere. I don't use acrylic rod myself so I'm unsure where to find it.

I think Ardor, and maybe Rinaldo have been using the acrylic, faux cumberland for a while. It doesn't look quite as groovy as the real stuff, but I kind of like it.

I get mine through fellow Portuguese Pipe Maker João Reis. I don't know where he gets it though but since he lives in Denmark it is probably over there.
