Actually, and while it may be premature to draw too many conclusions, I do have to say that in the past 24 hrs that I've been using the Biotene I've seen a marked difference in my ability to taste the pipe again.

Had 2 bowls after supper last night, and they tasted just fine. And that was after 2 Biotene treatments earlier in the day.

Today had one Biotene mouthwash early in the morning. And after work tried a bowl of John Pattons (tiltjp) Crossroads and it tasted just I remember it.

Don't want to get too cocky and say the funk is over, but we're on the right road. I'll continue with the Biotene for a while. So far I'm impressed.

Only thing I'll say is that the Biotene has a minty flavor that tends to linger a good long while after use. I can taste it hours later. So eating/drinking/smoking during this period is probably not going to be a good idea as it will inevitably influence the senses. At least it is for me.

My sincere thanks for those who recommended Biotene. And while it might have been initially touted for tongue bite, at this point it looks like it may have a broader application.

Again, it's too soon to say whether this funk has truly passed. But it seems we're on the right track.

Very Happy

Cheers,

RR

i know for me my allergies play a huge part in my pipe enjoyment. also any form of tobacco helps when i have a huge allergy attack. (i have really bad allergies) also i noticed when i crank the heat up at night the next moring it is very hard for me to enjoy my moring pipe when i drive to work. i feel the heat for my forced hot air makes my nose so dry it actually hurts to blow the smoke out of my nose which is how every puff is exhaled when i smoke. i hope you pipes are to your utter most enjoyment ASAP

Think the funk is behind me now.

Been doing the Biotene rinse 3 X/day and the tastebuds seem to be back to normal.

I'll continue with it for the time being.

cheers

Cheers,

RR

Allergies: I have them. Bad. Pretty chronic rhinitis, feeling of a colony of ants coursing through my nasal passages and sinuses, I usually flush my nose out with handfuls of water, that helps. Also, smoke helps. Don't tell the antis, okay? Wink

The funk: Rande Don't Have It No'Mo. cheers

Cool
