Fair call. The biggest problem we have here in Australia is finding suitable alcohol for the retort (well, aside from our plain-packaging laws and insane tobacco prices). I'm at the stage where I'm thinking of setting up a small still to produce my own alcohol as sourcing alcohol in any acceptable level of purity (sans toxic additives as well) is proving nigh-on impossible.

Wow, I can't imagine having that problem. I picked up another GBD 9438 today, it will need a little rim work.

I wonder if after all the old timers die out if there will still be enough people to abuse their pipes so that we may gain pleasure from restoring them....sad to think my grandkids may miss out on this wonderful past time.

It's scary to think about that. How many Pre-Cadogan era GBD's are floating around out there? New ones get listed every day, but at what point will that supply dry up?
