Just had a thought when re-reading this thread - make ALL the neo Nazi conservative "talk show hosts" get real jobs, punching a clock and making minimum wage and supporting a family of 4 for a solid year and see how they feel about the United Corporation of America then Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Conservatives are "neo-nazis" to you?
Glad to see that lefty tolerance on display.
Broadcasting isn't a "real job?"

Over the years I've notice the pipe boards are more conservative than what I've encountered at shows. Another thing that I've noticed are some of the most conservative voices on the boards tend to be more government dependent than I am (now).
To the OP I am a talk radio listener sports talk, NPR and I scan conservative and religious talk daily. I also listen to a lot of pro football, F1, political, cigar and pipe pod casts. I really enjoy Pipes Magazine.com's weekly podcast. I has a slight morning zoo style but it has some great interviews by a long time pipe guy. Shocked

Now you are just funnin', right? Who do you think the religious right is always quoting? It ain't Gandhi.

If you go back in history, liberal is a term that was redefined by progressives. You can't have an equation when one side is undefined.

You will note that there is a religious right but not so for the left. Has to explain a lot. scratch

There has been allot of opinions spouted as factual for the left side of this argument. I'm not taking either side here but don't pull that generic bs of eggin em on till they state their opinion so you shoot it down as "as look at that side spouting their "opinion" as fact typical lefty / righty". It's inflammatory and you know it, seen both sides here do it, that crap is really annoying. Don't get why you can't just discuss the topic as respectful members of a loving brotherhood. scratch Neutral

J, I will have to agree with you and I do apologize to you, but I do take a BIG exception to the Religious Right and their ilk taking the position that THEY are THE ONLY ethical and moral folks around. Because folks on the other side don't identify themselves as "religious" does not make their position and opinions any less "religious " or moral. THAT is really annoying Twisted Evil

I think I am going to have to buy a couple of smiley face rolls to add more often. Or announce satire ahead.

Left and Right are just more of the same these days. Both want to tell me how to lead my life. Both need a bit of deflating, IMO. Hang around such a topic long enough and you see why the terms are interchangeable.

I guess there is plenty of religion on both side. There sure as hell is enough righteous indignation.

P.S. I don't think God is Republican or Democrat...HONEST!!!

Well maybe we should just discuss something we can all agree on. lol!

Of course that's only if we narrow the discussion -- unlike talk radio.
People shouldn't just up and kill people. See, we all agree.

Actually, this all seems a prime example of either side using emotions to justify bad legislation. Right and left have more in common in most issues than they are willing to admit when/if they can remove the emotional component. There lies the rub. All of us, can and will use emotion to overrule logic. A recent study showed it as a given. We are all being manipulated. We can't avoid that. It isn't sinister as much as effective.

Look at this site. It is brotherly love and community like my neighborhood in the 50's. But we can quickly move to weak indictments of opposite views using strong words. Now take any of those ingrained response we've seen here and move them into the everyday reality. In an instant, we'd can switch to seek and destroy.

Of course [my name here]'s soap box is obviously based on superior intellect, humanity, whatever. Right... Have I got a bridge for you, Brother.
