I just applied for a new job, but no one is home for me to tell them, and my dog played all day at the park and she's tired... so I opened up my slider door, and have been conversing with the FATTEST raccoon I've ever seen. I'm unable to snap a photo of him, but I know he'll be back. He listens quite well, but he gets distracted by my birdseed. Every now and than he'll try to climb up onto my bird feeder, so I tell him "Get off of there" and he goes back down to get the fallen seeds. I think he was the one that ripped the bag I had taped up and covered on my porch. I've yet to ask him in fear that it'll cause tension. I'll try to get a picture of him and put it up here.

I've named him "Arnold". He keeps trying to get the fruit bits from the bird feeder, so I kept yelling, "HEY, HEY, HEY!" Than just called him Arnold so I could yell, "HEY ARNOLD!"

I had a pet raccoon when I was a kid.

It was a very cool pet.

Regarding wild ones, if they are foaming at the mouth shoot them!

God, I'm glad you aren't talking about pipe nuts at this weekends expo in St. Charles, IL. The place would have been littered with bodies and spilled tobacco.

Raccoons can be angry bastards sometimes. But you deal with us on BoB, so Arnold shouldn't be much of a problem. Razz

Coons are mean and aggressive. That's their nature. They can take down a dog 10X their size given half a chance. And some of them carry Rabies.

They may be "cute" but make no mistake they'll go for you if they can.

Around here they plunder trash cans and spread the garbage around.

Nothing but a nuisance. Every year or so they get dispatched by various neighbors.

Good riddance.

Cheers,

RR

Zach, what kind of job did you apply for? Just curious. Talking to wildlife can be a lot of fun. They will respond to someone who has the "vibes".

Well I applied for a CSR job in the hospital that I work at. (Central Service Resources) I would be a Central Service Technician. Oh and Don't worry Brewdude, I know, I've hunted them before. But this guy climbed up 3 flights of balcony and ate the birdseed off of the ground that I woulda had to sweep up anyway. He wasn't doing anything wrong.
