While they were all extremely talented, and Jim the poet, Ray was the visionary who brought it all together. Nobody can relate a story as well or romantically as Ray could.....

Saw them in the concert made famous in Miami. Red eyes and all...yeah, he whipped it out. Great show!

Yes, this.

Always loved the Doors. Still do.

Morrison Hotel remains a favorite album that gets played regularly.

Ray had a unique style, and it was tailored to the Doors and what they created. Never flashy or OTT. Just the right sound and solid accompaniment, and understated solos.

Some say the Doors were Morrison. Perhaps.

Yet the sum of the parts were greater than than the individuals contributions.

The Doors had a unique sound and style. Never to be duplicated. And Ray clearly was influential in the development of that sound.

RIP Ray.
