My good friend Bobby Nesbitt went one better than that.  Before the Bug-A-Salt was around, he loaded some .357 shells with grits to shoot carpenter bees on his back deck.  Laughing

He said it turned them inside out.  

And without damaging the deck.

Grits are a normal breakfast for me. Oatmeal makes my stomach upset... I bet grits would work in this contraption too, and probably be better for plants, life of the plastic product, etc... :chinscratchy:
