Neither do I see a defect in the finish of you nice work. But, you are still the one that needs to be satisfied with your best effort and if it makes you happier...

I'm not really into churchwardens, or freehand-style "big bowls," but that's a complete package right there, Big C. When a pipe comes together, it's something that just is, they show off whatever spirit or soul can be in such an object. This does it. Agreed with the above, one of your best yet.

Funny how if a pipe isn't for a person (like this isn't for me) but it still is able to stand up and declare itself proudly--that means it's a winner.

Cool

Thanks for the kind words gentlemen, I had a lot of fun making this one, I originally had plans to rusticate this one but when the briar ended up flawless I figured I would keep her smooth, but unfortuantely the grain issn't real impressive

Gorgeous Harry, the grain seems to work really well I think, looks kinda like fire grain in a storm front, looks quite effective and very appealing mate. cheers

Au contraire, BeeCee...I think the grain works with the pipe as a whole...sure, if it were a perfect straight grain, it'd be over-the-top cool, but with the poise and attitude as a package deal, it has character that stands up to be counted. For a small-time pipe maker, who doesn't get as many chances to roll the dice to discover that "perfect straight grain" once the block is cut, you work (well) with what ya have... this defines that kind of spirit.

Cool

I am impressed with the style. The double curve in the stem makes for a real graceful appearance.
Congratulations ! sunny

Well done Harry! I would imagine crafting a churchwarden that is balanced well enough to become a sitter is quite an accomplishment. One of the best looking churchwardens I have ever seen! cheers cheers cheers
