Nice! I see what you mean about the grain on the bottom. It's like a vortex. It has some depth to it.

I love it!
And you're right, the grain at the heel is very cool, like swirling clouds.
Overall, a great looking pipe.

Nifty.

The bowl stain versus the soft, mint-green stem remind me of something that would have been made around the late 1940s or early 1950s...even though they wouldn't have made something like this then. I remember visiting older folks' homes, seeing jade-based lamps on lace runners, sitting on mid 20th century, almost "honey-colored" furniture that resemble this setup well.

Cool

She's lovely, I'm a sucker for those jade colored stems, just gorgeous. It's got a very art deco feel to it.

BC - that dang thing is dangerous. You start gazing at the vortex grain on the bottom and pretty ya got a lap full of ashes! Need I say...OUCH!!!

Aside from the incendiary nature of the beast she really is a beaut! I'm not sure I can call the Olde Pumpkin Orange strummel or the Iridescent Seasick Green stem subtle but the relationship between the colors IS. It really works. Also very fine shape and finish. I love the damn thing. So there!
