Harry you are amazing. Each pipe you make seems to me to be an improvemrnt over the one before. The stain color on the bowl is perfect. It highlights the grain instead of hiding it as so many are apt to do. Is it Mahogany? It appears to have a red tint to it and that leads me to believe it may be Mahogany. Of the darker stains this is by far my favorite. You must have spent hours sanding it to get it smooth enough to where you could wax and buff it to such a brilliant gloss. The stem is a perfect compliment to the pipe. Well done. The colors work very well with the pipe's shape. In my opinion this is not only a pipe it's also a beautiful piece of art. Keep it up Harry, you're about to hit the big time. Smile

Thanks everyone,
Not Mahogany AJ, the plan was to get the stain to compliment the stem color, but with a contrast ring in between them,
I used a black stain to grab the grain, then a red understain, and then a brown to finish it off, when I compare it to other pipes I have stained with a lighter color, the gloss seems to be the same, but the richer color of stain makes the gloss look even more glossy

as far as the big time? even a blind nut finds a squirrel now and then Laughing

Wow brother, very nice! I didn't see this till now and I must say you did a damn fine job here. I think the color and finish are awesome, and I like the accent material you used rather than silver cap or band. Keep it going man, your on a roll. cheers
