So, this morning we are getting our first (of many) snow falls. It is a little early and will not stick, still a bit on the vehicles!

The Sierras out my porch door got about eight inches.

I called an early winter, and I was right...again. No one can figure out how I do it. (I observe those smarter than me...the animals, bugs and plants.) Is it that difficult? Laughing

If human beings were meant to live in that stuff, we would have been born with fur and there wouldn't be the Mason-Dixon line Twisted Evil  Twisted Evil

The Inuit give two craps about Mason-Dixon lines, build lonely homes from snow, and simply take the fur from creatures much bigger than they, and then eat the leftovers. My kind of human being. I love you

NE Ohio...right in the "snow belt."  I love snow, and can't wait for it to start to roll in...we barely got anything last year (well...compared to usual, anyway), and I feel cheated.  Its an unpopular opinion around here, but I'm hoping this year makes up for it.

And I mean, we're all pipe smokers here...what could possibly be more relaxing that having a long, slow smoke while watching the snow fall? There's a shortage of all things romantic and pastoral these days, so I take full advantage of the opportunity whenever I can!

All of those who like snow and live in places that have at least a faint idea of how to deal with it are welcome to whatever is scheduled for the NC triad! Some winters we get a fair amount, others none.

I'm hoping for none!

I love to visit snowy places, but I wouldn't want to live in it. Being a hop, skip, and a jump from Tahoe is perfect for me. Wink

Well I was up on the summit (Donner Summit - 7000 feet) and I'll tell ya straight - there wasn't 8 inches! Maybe 3, and it didn't last. I for one do hope we have a big winter and I love seeing an early dusting, but don't exaggerate. This sort of thing happens every year and it's always crap (the BS exaggerations that is). I think they may have gotten a little more down south where there's more elevation, but even Mammoth was only reporting 4-6 inches at the summit (11,000 feet)! I doubt if even Freel Peak (the highest in the Carson range, though I'de doubt it's visable from Reno) got 4 inches out it.

Still though, it's Mother Nature's little way of saying "Got your gear together for the winter?". There's always odds & ends of course, but I'm nearly there - 7 cord, split & stacked! Laughing  But I don't imagine I'll be putting the studs on my truck for another month or so!

Local news reports snow level down to 5000' in the northern Cascades. Too early for this nonsense.

No, I don't like snow.

No Cheers for snow...........
