apple & a freehand Empty
PostSubject: apple & a freehand   apple & a freehand EmptySun Oct 13, 2013 7:29 pm

Hey folks finished up a couple of pipes thought I'd share them with youinz!

These are both made with Algerian Briar, and German Ebonite stems, that I hand cut myself have only done about 5 of my own stems from rod stock so far.

The Apple one of my favorites to carve, and to hold in my hand.

And this is a freehand cutty/egg what ever you want to call it,
The stain I used to make the grain stand out really stuck in certain areas more than others as you can see in the pics

As always, you are the man. I think the freehand is awesome. The top of the bowl just rocks. The Apple is very elegant. I'm still new and haven't ventured into making my own stem. But these look great to me. Thanks fer sharing.

You dun good my friend. The extra work you put into the freehand stem paid off. As with all your work it just flows and seems to fit. You have an eye or some god given talent that just seems to make some pipe shapes that I normally wouldn't be attracted to look very attractive if that makes sense. True Artistry.cheers

Apples aren't a favorite shape here but with a pipe that beautiful I sure wouldn't complain! The color on it is awesome!

The freehand is a real looker too. I love the way the dye took it really stands out.

You keep getting better there Harry. I may have to breakdown and get a real job so I can get one of your pipes.

Jim
