Pathetic aint it? Even more so when you realise that only 40% of the electorate bothers to vote in congressional elections. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Majority rule wasn't tried for by the constitution. (Actually scared the crap out of many founders.)

2 senators per state regardless of population
A senator can block legislation.
Electoral Congress ignores popular votes.
2/3rd requirement ignore the majority.

The one bit of allocation of house districts by count is controlled by gerrymandering.

It is interesting to note that a former constitutional professor in the White House doesn't understand separation of power.  Actually, the founders designed it to be a difficult, contentious process.  In that regard, things are working great.
