Been going absolutely stir crazy not being able to do anything much since the hand injury and then taking a tumble and hurting my back.

Decided to push myself a little and get out in the shed for a bit each day and see if my hands and back were still up to the task of pipe making, my journey is just at the beginning so the notion of stopping now is more than a trifle of frustration.

Not much to write home about I know but I feel encouraged that they turned out reasonably well, I have some hope for the future, I'm hoping the discomfort will lessen in time and that my grip will improve accordingly, time will tell.

Those two creations look terrific. Good to hear you're back to making pipes -- thanks for posting!

Thank you kindly Roth, it was no day at the park making these two but it was troubling me too much not knowing how this was all going to turn out. Sure, they're not perfect by any means but they're good enough to give me optimism for the future so I'm all kinds of good with them. Once I'm able to get some new Briar in they'll be no stopping me.  Very Happy

Fine looking, Kirk!

You still have the "hand" as well as the heart.

Jolly good to see you back at it mate. Keep at it. There's the ticket!

Kick the bollocks out of those naysayers.

Great looking pipes btw!

Cheers,

RR

I am liking the second one Kirk, and as the flag on the USS Lawrence which was  commanded by Oliver Hazard Perry read "Don't give up the Ship"

So happy you haven't given up there Kirk! I think they both came out a right treat. Particularly like the second one there. It just seems to beg to be held. They may not be as polished as you'd like but the important thing is that you still got it. Keep up the good work but don't push yourself too hard.
