Thought you guys might like to see some pics of my buddy Juniper. She's 8 months old and getting used to people for educational programs at the zoo.

Hey, I gotta admit, not everyone one has got a Penguin buddy.
I've got some pretty foul friends but, then again ......there not friends are they?

You must be a Zoo keeper of sorts HP. Not something all of us could do but, I'm sure it has great rewards. Don't get me wrong, I like most animals, I just don't wanna have to deal with that many every day, kinda like people.

Ron, not me I'm too old and broken! My wife works for the zoo, so we get pulled in when they need "test subjects". Here's one of the wife with one of her favorites.

Lol no monkeys are not anywhere near as nice as most folks think. Had to spend time with them back in school, not fun at all! I'd put it on par with spending the day with 10,000 people, not something I wanna do any more.

Huffel, I am truly, truly jealous.

My wife and I members of the local zoo and donate regularly to the AZA, and we usually plan our vacations around what zoos/aquariums we'd like to visit. We've been lucky enough to get up close and personal with a number of animals and it's always a special thing. How lucky for you!!!

Ian, it is a real privilege to be given access to some of the animals. As a member of the zoo family I have had opportunities that most could only dream of. As a result I have some amazing photos of the lions, one of the polar bears, the gerenuks, one of the rhinos, and of course Juniper. If people are interested I will certainly post more of them. Jim

Here's another one of Juniper for you Mr E. She's trying to pick the spots off my daughters pants.

Peter we didn't get to hold her but we did pet her. They are every bit as soft and squishy as they look.

Ian, here's one you should get a kick out of. It's a picture painted by the black rhino Mishindi. The rhino keeper gave it to my wife two years ago.

Here's one of my favorite lions. He died last year. He was only 15, his brother still calls for him while searching the yard.
