PostSubject: Canadian Pharmacies    Sat Nov 01, 2014 1:54 pm

Anyone in the US use a Canadian Pharmacy? My new Health Ins (Aetna) is terrible with co-pays and one of my scripts just increased to almost $100 from about $35. Can't afford to fill that any longer here!

I've done a bit of research and see that there are many fake Canadian Pharmacies that ship from countries like India, Russia, and so on. And the drugs they send can be fake and dangerous.

Apparently there's a verification system called PharmacyChecker.com that lists legitimate sites and I've had a quick look at them and found my medication for about what I used to pay. I'd need my Doc to send them the prescription first, which I'll be asking her to do provided I feel comfortable enough.

So if any of you folks have any experience with a legit site I'd love to hear about it.

TIA

Cheers,

RR

Do your research carefully!
I can give you an example, I have seized millions of pills from "Canadian Pharmacies" The pills that were supposed to be hydrocodone, turned out to be from Pakistan. They were actually .......PURE HEROIN!!!!!!  affraid
Might be good for a junky, not so good for someone who is trying to manage serious pain. Buyer beware!!!!!!

A cautionary tale to be sure. And yes, I'll be doing my homework first.

I used to get a few junk emails about Canadian pharmacies selling Cialis and the like.

Now the junk emails want to help me grow my, er, junk.

Interesting. I just had to pass a CAPTCHA type verification to post this.

I thought the outlawed mail order narcotics back in 2012. Hell I can't even have my doc fax a copy of the prescription, I have to, in person, pick it up in Louisville and hand deliver it, in person, to my pharmacy to have it filled.

Yes that's correct. Any Schedule 2 narcotics prescriptions must be filled at the pharmacy with a written prescription along with a photo ID. Hydrocodone - the narcotic used in Vicodin - recently moved to Schedule 2 to join oxycodone along with others. The infamous Tramadol - or Ultram - is moving to Schedule 3 as hydrocodone moves up. Tramadol is the biggest drug along with Viagra which you will see offered by overseas pharmacies.

Not that it really matters to me cause being ADHD none of these drugs do a thing for my pain, besides wiring me up so bad I can't sleep for 24 hours after taking them, if fact Tramadol puts me into seizure like ticks. Ah, the American drug companies pushing there garbage that does more harm then good for anyone.

I wonder if a word triggers it.

Cialis
Viagra
pharmacy
aetna
walgreens
costco
Canada
beat the US Government out of some drug tariffs
NSA
NCIS
NCIS New Orleans  (good show)

That did it. One of these key words must have triggered it. Enjoy!

From the Forumotion Help threads.

Quote :
What this is, forumotion has a built in spam filter that has a bunch of the most commonly used spam words in it and if this word appears then the captcha is triggered. It'll also trigger if someone quotes that post.

You can't turn this specific captcha off I'm afraid.

Hey Bullwinkle. I saw your reply and laughed because I was thinking along those lines. Ron - while I realize pharmaceuticals have not always covered themselves in glory (restless leg syndrome and some other whoppers come to mind), in general the drug companies are making some extraordinary drugs and saving millions of lives. For instance, ten years ago with my cancer I was known as a one and out - meaning one bone marrow transplant then I died. I'm alive today because some scientist in the bowels of a building in Plainsboro, NJ discovered a molecule that saved my life. Equally, ask any Hepatitis C patient what it's like to not have to take interferon anymore and you will see quite a reaction. Like any capitalistic system you are always going to have excess. It's the nature of the beast. But I think if you weigh the treatment breakthroughs in the past 10 years alone you'd find so, so many reasons to be be thankful a lot of hard working employees come to work everyday. Full disclosure; I work in healthcare informatics and two pharmaceuticals represent about 9% of my billables. Sorry if I went off topic but just wanted to say that. Mods - feel free to remove if this is considered inappropriate.

Ron - I hope this didn't come across as rude or preachy. Just wanted to share my thoughts and please know I get and respect where you are coming from. - Tom

Informative post Tom. Like most folks I have a love hate relationship with the drug manufacturers and medical industry in general, but the bottom line is people are living longer with a better quality of life thanks in no small part to the work of the people they employ.
