Just received 6 very generous samples of quite old 'baccy. They all date from up to 89 years ago!! Yes you read that right!!
Some of them are from before I was in a glimmer of my late Pap's eye, and would very probably be what he might have smoked back in the day. My Pap was a pipe guy from as far as I can remember.
This is amazing, and the cool thing is that they all seem as fresh and aromatic as when they were produced. I'd have expected them to be dry as dust, but that's not the case here.
These are all OTC's from the day. Call them codger blends if you will but I guess that's what I am! They include-
1/2&1/2 from I believe 1925, Prince Albert from 1940, SWR from the early 60's, Briggs from the late 70's- early 80's, and Union Leader from about the same time frame. Plus a PA experimental blueberry aromatic. They all smell wonderful and I can't wait to try them.
My sincere thanks to Jim (hufflepuff) for this unique opportunity. He expressed a desire to try some FVF and I duly sent him him some and he bombed me out of existence!
