The Old Grind blend Empty
PostSubject: The Old Grind blend   The Old Grind blend EmptySun Jan 11, 2015 11:07 pm

After playing with new blends, I decided to reach for my regular in my rotation and discovered all I had left was in my pouch and a small Ball jar in my farm truck. Plopped it into the press and put it next to the oven (I cook a lot, bake more in the winter) so it could be warm. This is the result...

Decided to pull another chunk of Grandpa's Sweater for the truck. The extra nicotine is nice in the cold..

Interesting. Did you press it in a pipe or make a mold.

I wrap the tobacco in a sleeve of wax paper, then twist it. I put it in a tube/pipe and then press the ends a bit. If necessary, I have black walnut shims I can drive around the perimeter to increase pressure on the sides, but it is not always required. A month or so at the right temperature get's the result I need for a nice merging of flavours and firm crumble cakes.

Works for me anyway, and the results have been consistent for over 5 years now.
