The news here is reporting a potentially record breaking blizzard headed for the North East corner of the U.S. So to all the Bob brothers and sisters in that neck of the woods, I say take care of yourselves, stay safe and (if at all possible), hunker down with some good tobacco, your favorite pipes and (singing off key) santa let it snow let it snow let it snow

I wish that snow would hit Houston. I would love to have some of that white stuff. There is just something peaceful about sitting on the porch and watching the snow fall while smoking a pipe and drinking coffee.. The silence is just heavenly. I miss snow.. Haven't seen it since 2011, and then only a light dusting.

When I retire and don't have to go anywhere I'll enjoy sitting back with a good pipe and not worrying about it,,,until then I'd like to share my portion of it with you all.

It's just frozen water vapor--nothing to worry about.  Of course, driving when you literally cannot see the hood of your car or the tops of power line poles for orientation in a whiteout can be a b*tch. Just consider it a sport, dice with death, and carry on.  Smile

I am 32 years removed from snow country, though every so often central Georgia will get enough snow to slow us down for a day or two. What gets me is when the weather folks tell people how to dress for cold weather. I say, if they are dumb enough to go out in sub freezing temps in shorts, T, and flip flops, well do we really need them in the gene pool?

I'M in Ontario and it looks like we will be spared - once more.

For all of you that will get it, please stay safe, stay inside if you can; and hang in there.  Smile

Ya, this one looks pretty serious. Don't normally get involved with the news hype but it could get ugly.

Stay safe all you folks in the affected areas, and check in when you can. This too shall pass.

Cheers,

RR

Hunkered down here in NH. Got everything prepped as much as possible. Wind and snow picking up now. We're New Englanders - we will survive.

Seriously, be safe, bros.

We only got about 20 inches here in southern Connecticut. It's not that bad, we got 34 inches in one night like two years ago, that was bad. How did you guys make out up there ?

Not bad at all. About 26" but the wind hit 63mph which brought the windchill down to -7F here on the mountain. Glad you made it through OK!
