PostSubject: No Balls, No Glory Tobacco   Tue Sep 15, 2015 8:57 am

So, as you all know I work at a tobacco shop. We have a second location that is a cigar & martini bar. In the bar we have a bottle with a sticker on it "No Balls, No Glory". Every time I bring someone to the bar for the first time, I almost always have them do an "initiation" shot of No Balls, No Glory. I don't tell them what is in it until after they take the shot. The liquor consists of the last few drops of whichever bottles have been finished at the bar. So some weeks it might have more Crown Royal, or more scotch, or more bourbon depending on what people have been drinking the most of the past week. It's never bad though!

So I decided to do the same thing with my tobacco. The last bits of a bag or a tin that doesn't quite make a bowl full, I put them all into one bag. Aros, english, virginia, it doesn't matter. It all goes into the same one and I wrote No, Balls, No Glory on the bag.

Do any of you do something similar to this with the last bits of your tobaccos?

I have a Ball jar dedicated to just that. All the little leftovers go in there and I let it age away. Harlock used to call it a "hobo blend". The rule of the hobo blend is that whichever tobacco you least like will be the dominant flavor. Lol.

Oh heavens yes!! I dump all the leftover, dusty, crumbly bits into a jar; they mellow nicely. The latweed/ginnyweed/burley/perique combo always smokes nicely. I will throw some extra straight latweed into the mix to smooth it out on occasion. cheers FTRPLT

That's awesome guys! I like hearing all the different ways you save the little bits! Glad I'm not the only one Smile

I like "Hobo Blend" too. No Balls, No Glory just seemed badass LOL.

Ya, I've taken to calling my odds and sods "hobo blend" as well. Good to learn it came from Harlock. I probably forgot that.

Cheers,

RR

I have a jar like that named "Natch". Anyone who's ever gotten " a sample or two " from him knows why. Whenever I'm bored I can go to the jar and say,"let's see what Natch has for me today ".

Sorry Rob. I'll get on a real computer in a day or two. My phone doesn't give me access to PM. It also doesn't let me make little smily faces, so when I say something like "Rob only clicked on this thread because he thought it said Glory Hole" I sound more like PB than GK.

Crumbs and partial bowls for me often just go in a pipe and get topped off with whatever seems like a good idea. This has always worked pretty well for me. If I am finishing a pound of Pegasus or something I might dump the last bit in the next pound I open.

Yup, guilty........

Though, my left overs are just labeled, 'left overs'.

I go through the jar by tossing a flake of some VA I the bottom and topping it with the leftovers...........

I've also been told the make good fixins for roll-your-own cig smokers. I guess it's dry enough to smoke as a cigarette by then........

Frankenblend for me.

Actually, I'm about to fill up the last little bit of space in the mason jar. I guess I'll end up starting a second jar and call it "Bride of Frankenblend."

Nice! That takes the cake... Let us know when you dig into these two and create a third jar. I guess that would be frankenblend's offspring! Wink
