Got up this morning, usual routine.......

Feed the petting zoo, the meat on the hoof (or paw, as the case may be), released the chickens. Coffee in hand, next was to stoke the stove to the tobacco barn, check temps, humidity, etc.......

Generally, over night, things cool down a bit in there, so it's the best time to scope the situation.

This morning though, a little over half of my drying racks are empty.

It was a full house last night........

I looked around inside and outside, and all I could really tell was there were horse tracks.

I have no horses....

And you know, around 3 or so, the Aussie shepherd was carrying on, but every other time he went off, it was either possum, raccoon, or skunk. And I scolded him for waking me...

I'll never doubt him again...

Sorry Patches, good boy........

Damned night riders--again. They're everywhere. Seriously, this sounds weird. Revenue agents? I can't quite imagine what the hell it was. Have you given your address to anyone on this forum? I wouldn't put it past Monbla, or myself even, to have paid a visit.

(I jest. Monbla's a fine young man, just as I am.)

I doubt it was horses Mr Wizard Sir. They'd really struggle to load a pipe.

I would comment, however as I am currently under watchful eye AND censored, I will need to consider my words with care.................

I can say that the neighbor had all of their gas siphoned from their vehicles over night.....

I can say that there are new tazer door knobs on my barns.

With any luck, I will remember that I enabled them, and won't piss myself if I try to get in without Disabling the new system............

Back to having to smoke last year's leaf..................

Funny thing about my address, if you look it up it takes you to the post office in Ava, not my road, or driveway.... I am not Google-able.....

There is a method to my madness..............

This is how I see it...........

IF they know what they took and try to consume it today, or at least within the next couple of weeks, they may never smoke again, as it is still pretty raw, and rather unpleasant to smoke without further curing.

If they return, they will enjoy a nice electrical stimulation, which will be documented by a couple of game cameras...

They will meet Thor, my 6'7" tall llama. He kills coyotes and wolves to earn his keep. He is rather proficient at his tasks.....

And when Patches goes off, I'm packing..........

The sheriff said there wasn't much they could do, so I suggested if someone shows up at urgent care with respiratory issues, that may be a good place to start.... You have to cure tobacco a while before you can smoke it, or it hurts!

(Word on the trail says there was a black horse with California plates spotted down the county road......)

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........... Revenge for a bombing, perhaps?

So the hot commodities for theft in your area are gas and drying tobacco leaves?    Suspect
The local pawn shops must be real interesting.

Sorry for your loss.

I know that it's open season for copper harvesting from abandoned homes year 'round. Worked on a home for a realtor last year that was left alone for a month between buyer and seller exchanging papers, Even the Romex in the attic was cut from the joists in sections. The tubing for the AC, light fixtures, you name it....

Sorry to hear about your tobacco loss.

I gotta say, this reminds me of an incident my dad experienced not too long ago, where he got up in the morning, normal routine and all, decided he would go to the store. Went out to get his Toyota 4 Runner going only to find that the catalytic converter was gone. Turns out that it's a commonly stolen item, as certain models are lined with platinum.

Not cool... Thieves are the lowest of lifeforms..

I can understand copper. Plenty of theft here over the last several years from vacant office buildings, utility yards, construction sites, etc.

We have a huge job market here in CA, but some just want to take the easy (lazy) route.
