Hi folks,

I got this BC Galion 1661 sitter in an auction lot. Had a few issues to deal with, both functional and cosmetic, during the refurb, but I think I can say I've improved the pipe as well as repaired it. Here is a quick Before (top pic) and After (bottom pic). As always, the full write-up and lots more pics can be found on my blog at DadsPipes.

Thanks for looking!

Quite the transformation, very nice work. It's a much better looking pipe now; you did it a big favor imo.

cheers

Transformation and resurrection, I'd say. Or, in non-religious terms, honey out of horsesh*t. Two thumbs up for both final product and rustication technique.

Current Rockys are crap, IMO, as far as rustication goes. I would never buy one. This looks way better.

Got to say I totally agree with that statement, I don't know what the heck has taken place at Peterson's of late but their rustication for the Donegal has totally gone to the dogs, very sad to see. Sad

Nope, but you can roll it in glitter.

Great transformation from an 'odd' looking briar to something far more traditional and pleasing to the eye. Nicely done OP!
