Yuppers, that's right!

Moon at it perigee, full, and getting shaded by Earth.

Got my camera ready, this will be the fourth in two years.. Hopefully most of the cloud coverage will be gone when it happens!!

Enjoy!

I probably won't see it. A bit late for me.

But there certainly seems to be much of it made on social media. You know, all the usual end times BS. Here's one such entry-

Ya, I know. It's the Mormons....

What a Face

Cheers,

With all the Raptures, end times, and apocalypsis I've survived since Y2K, you'd think I'd be as tough as Rick Grimes my now.

Got some cloud cover right now, but it's a goof excuse to hang out on the porch with a pipe.

We're a little overcast here, but I have a bowl of Red & Black ready for the occasion & a nice strong Gin & Tonic.

I watched the second half.
It was cloudy, but it appeared intermittently.
Anyway, it was lovely out and I enjoyed a bowl of
Exhausted Rooster while the cats gathered around.

Nice photos. Unfortunately that's all I get the pleasure of viewing. It was overcast last night until the eclipse was over.

Hmmm. Any special lens involved?

Nope, it's a 'point and shoot' camera.

Fantastic pics there OW. I set my alarm to wake me at 0300 here in the UK and was treated to a cloudless sky and lunar treat unlike anything I had seen before. An absolutely stunning terracotta moon. Wish I had attempted to photograph the moment. I have a digi SLR with a 300 on the front which would probably have done the job. Oh well, I'll have to wait to 2033 now...

Yah, I have couple of DSLRs, and my longest reaching lens is 1000 mm, then I can throw a converter that doubles that, but costs me an 'F' stop. Still can't touch my point and shoot. I only have 8 cameras, and each have their gifts. Some of my best macros are using an old 6 meg camera. For wet applications I have still been using a 35mm film camera. Dive cameras aren't cheap, right?

Missed it all. But do remember getting up for a pee around 3AM and noting that the light from the bedroom window looked very strong, almost like the neighbor had a floodlight on.

Leaving for the brewery a few hrs later, the sky was cloudless and the moon shone brightly. But the blood phase had passed. Pity, that!

Cheers,

RR

The forecast wasn't promising here in Central Ct, but the sky cleared and the eclipse show was splendid. Over in the East the Pleides were dazzling through 7x binocs. Why, yes, I did have a smoke -- Uhley's Irish Aromatic in an Ehrlich Supreme Bulldog.
